1. The first four paintings (out of 20) that I was commissioned to do for a local volleyball team called the Hawks. These are all gouache and watercolor on hot press watercolor paper.
    Red-tailed hawk, 4x6 inches
    Cooper’s hawk, 4x6 inches
    Red-shouldered hawk, 4.5x5.5 inches
    Broad-winged hawk, 5x5 inches

  2. I’ve been wanting to get back into anthro art for a while now, so here’s an Indonesian babirusa that I painted between working on commissions.  This guy is based off of the Buru or golden babirusa in particular, which is only found on the Maluku and Sula Islands, and is depicted performing a traditional Malukun war dance called the cakalele.

Watercolor and gouache on Arches hot press bright white watercolor paper, 11 x 8 ½ inches

  3. Quick little Marilyn Manson painting I did in honor of today being his 50th birthday! I’ve always found it to be ironic and incredibly fitting that his star sign (Capricorn) just so happens to be represented by a goat (aka the animal with the most occult connotations).

Watercolor and gouache on watercolor paper, 5 x 8 inches

  4. Merry Christmas everyone! Here are some small (3 ½ by 6 inches) watercolor and gouache cards I painted for my friends this year.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow, no matter what holiday you celebrate ^.^

  5. Night of the Demon (1957)
    Deepstar Six (1989)
    The Church/La Chiesa (1989)
    The Suckling (1990)
    Dreamscape (1984)
    Spookies (1986)

Some more movie monster Inktober drawings from the last week (only six this time though, since I missed a day).  I just couldn’t resist drawing a Baphomet pose again lol.  Movie titles are in the captions on each drawing.

Check out last week’s drawings here, or follow me on Instagram here!

  6. Critters (1986)
    Blood Freak (1972)
    The Giant Claw (1957)
    Brain Damage (1988)
    Q: The Winged Serpent (1982)
    Leviathan (1989)
    TerrorVision (1986)

Inktober drawings from the past week.  Instead of following the official prompts, I decided to draw obscure/lesser-known movie monsters, mainly from B-list horror movies.  Title of each movie is in the caption on each drawing.

  7. Here’s a painting from earlier this summer that I keep forgetting to post. This was a commission for my cousin of her old dog, a wonderful German shepherd mix named JakJak. I had a heck of a time trying to photograph the black fur on this guy; sadly a lot of the details got lost in translation. Definitely one that looks better in person.

    Acrylic on canvas, 20x24 inches

  8. I haven’t posted on here in a hot minute, but here’s something a little different from what I usually paint!  Not many people know this, but I’ve been a massive Marilyn Manson fan since I was around 13 years old. He’s the person that first inspired me to become an artist - and has continued to be a tremendous source of inspiration/motivation for all the years since then. I decided this year to take the plunge and do a meet and greet with him, and give him a painting inspired by his latest album Heaven Upside Down. It was a fantastic experience (followed by an amazing concert!) and nothing makes me happier than just knowing that he saw my artwork and liked it. Definitely one of the best moments of my entire life (…even though I look awkward as all get out in my photo haha).

Gouache and watercolor on Crescent hot press wet media board, 11x15 ½ inches.  Please don’t repost my artwork or my meet and greet photo, thanks!

  9. Another dog painting commission, this time of a lovely black lab named Shelby.  I’m not sure which is more difficult, painting black fur or trying to take a decent photograph of painted black fur….although I guess this is why I’m an illustrator and not a photographer lol.

    Acrylic on canvas, 20x24 inches

  10. A commission of a cute golden retriever named Sophie I finished a few days ago! It’s been ages since I’ve worked with any traditional media, so this painting was both challenging and a lot of fun.

    Acrylic on canvas, 20x24 inches

Also made a little process thing for those interested (sorry for my wonky camera angles in some of them lol):
